We started Najla Dreams initially as a hobby when we discovered how difficult it could be to find costumes that fit when you are a larger size. Ladies in our class liked what we had done and asked us to make something for them, and so Najla Dreams went into business in March 2007.

We are a mother and daughter team and have been dancing for 4 years enjoying all styles of the dance. We regularly perform as part of two troupes, Sisters of the Desert and Tribal Misfits, attending around 20 – 30 events over the summer months. We were part of the group that set the Guinness World Record in 2005 for the most belly dancers performing the same routine at the same time, here, in the North-East of Scotland.

Maryan has always had an interest in dressmaking and Sharon is a quilter. In 2006 we completed a course in Clothes Making and Maryan went on to complete a course in Pattern Cutting and Design. We have dressed dancers from size 6 to 26, drawing up patterns to suit the individual.

Our aim is to make and provide costumes that fit no matter what your size be you short, tall, small or large. At Najla Dreams we pride ourselves in supplying quality items whether we make them ourselves or they come from our carefully chosen suppliers.
